Full-Stack Developer

Role description

This Full Stack Programmer Analyst role will analyze and develop business requirements, define, and implement business solution specifications, as well as the definition and execution unit tests that contribute to the achievement of organizational goals with an emphasis on the quality of deliverables. Will work together with technical leaders in defining solutions according to established standards and IS&T strategies. Support and/or solve problems in production as a developer or systems or business analyst. Wear many hats!


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, apply changes, updates and program web applications using the following technologies: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, XPATH, Web Services.
  •  Design and implement solutions using object-oriented programming languages: C#, .NET, Visual Studio.
  • Provide support and work on Database environments such as Oracle database and MS SQL associated tools (Designer, TOAD, SQL Plus, explain plan, DTS, integration services, etc.).
  • Analyze, document, design, program, test, and execute complex business applications using client-server programs and web platforms of current languages ​​and tools.
  • Estimate efforts, time, and cost of implementing software solutions.
  • Analyze solutions to organizational problems according to his expert judgment and cost-effectiveness for the group companies. Includes, but is not limited to third-party out-of-the-box solutions, in-house development, third-party development, etc.
  • Recommend changes and/or updates or improves existing programs in the Company.
  • Documents all the solutions that it prepares, from the analysis to its implementation and maintenance, including changes or improvements to existing programs.
  • Train new users and all users of the software solutions assigned to them and document test cases (UAT).
  •  Provides technical assistance in the use, maintenance, and operation of the solutions it provides.
  • Acquires understanding of the business processes of the organizational units it serves and identifies opportunities for improvement by applying them systematically.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in programming business solutions in web environments and management of relational databases; or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in drafting requirements in the analysis phase using methodologies and best practices.
  • Design and implementation of information system solutions in distributed environments with a high volume of transactions and experience with version control tools.
  • Updated Systems Analysis and Design courses. Ability to learn new techniques and technology in a self-taught way.
  • Experience in the insurance or finance industry is preferred.

The Business Analyst will be working within the Risk Management division to provide an understanding of the regulatory environment and how the risks of the products and services offered are viewed by the Second Line of Defense and regulators. Job Duties:

·        Drive Risk Culture throughout organization ensuring awareness in the Business Line of risk frameworks, policies and standards while working with team members and key stakeholders to develop appropriate metrics and deliver relevant and accurate data.

·        Work with internal teams to gain an in-depth understanding of existing risks, causes, severity rating, controls and remediation.

·        Facilitate training for Business Lines to provide awareness of risk frameworks, policies, programs, processes, issue validation, etc., reporting and escalating exceptions to Business Line corrective actions.

·        Continuously monitor all sources of risk existing within the Business Line and externally while engaging in research, peer networking, and experience to anticipate critical risk issues impacting the Business Line.

·        Understand where operational, strategic, reputational, compliance, and model risks exist in the Business Line and continually assess and improve controls to mitigate those risks.

·        Monitor risk profile to maintain tolerance within Risk Appetite.

·        Draft and execute test procedures to assess operating effectiveness of controls.

·        Obtain, examine and analyze records from various systems, reports, operating practices, and documentation for compliance with bank policies, regulatory compliance and adherence to appropriate procedures by communicating with Business partners across the Bank.

·        Ensure proper utilization of bank policies and line of business procedures.

·        Performs control evaluations (both control design and control performance assessments) through collaboration with various stakeholders while influencing parties towards strategic goals.


Education & Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s Degree is required

·        Strong oral and written communication skills (English and Spanish) and the ability to summarize and present complex information and issues succinctly for the required target audience is a must

·        2+ years’ in IT Risk Management, Internal Controls, IT Auditing is required

·        Previous experience testing controls ensuring compliance with Regulations, Corporate Standards, and Corporate Policy within automated environments

·        Demonstrated experience supporting and/or leading risk projects across multiple business lines offering a wide variety of financial services products and services

·        Must have banking experience (retail banking and risk management)

 

Plus:

·        Previous experience within IT Audits is a plus
