Jr. SW Engineer
Role description
The Jr. SW Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Job Duties:
- Prepare detailed specifications from which automation scripts will be written in addition to participating in the design, coding, debugging, testing, documentation and maintenance of complex automation scripts.
- Create and define system scope and objectives for automation project deliverables in addition to performing business analysis and/or technical analysis for code/test script migrations.
- May serve as technical lead on project.
- Interacts with technical team and business unit on regular basis
- Implement frameworks, system, application-level monitoring to ensure high system availability
- Communicate and interact on a regular basis with the project manager and development team during different stages of the project; document product and user journeys/flows.
- Review functional requirements, analysis and design documents and provides feedback and provide updates and project status reports when necessary to management.
- Develop and maintain operational, technical and system level documentation and participate in various phases of the project life cycle such as requirement gathering and documentation, process mapping, test planning, test script writing and overseeing UAT.
- Collaborate with various cross-functional teams to gather functional requirements by conducting detailed interviews with management, end users, and business unit stakeholders.
Education & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- 1-3 years of experience
- Proficient in Spanish
- Knowledge of shell scripting on Linux, Bash, Korn, Perl, Python or Ansible scripts
- Knowledge of shell scripting on Windows, PowerShell, or Python
- Knowledge of HTTP, REST and JSON for calling API Services in Automation Scripts.
- Comfortable working in RedHat Linux command-line.
- Participate in production support team.
- Excellent general understanding of Linux, cloud networking and server management
- Knowledge of HTTP or Background in web technologies is highly desired
Plus:
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and platforms such as Terraform, Rundeck, Ansible, etc.
- Previous experience with Monitoring Tools (Dynatrace , CA, IBM SevOne) is a plus
- Financial Experience
