Role Description:

The Database Developer will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our Oracle cloud applications, with a particular focus on Oracle Analytical Cloud and Oracle Integration Cloud. The primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient storage, retrieval, and manipulation of data within these platforms. Proficiency in advanced SQL writing and development is essential. Expertise in Oracle databases will be instrumental in designing and implementing database structures that align with our organization's needs for scalability, performance, and data integrity. Familiarity with Python will be advantageous, as it may be utilized for automation, data analysis, or integration purposes. Knowledge of Workday, to create seamless data exchange and interoperability between our database systems and HR management processes. Work closely with developers, data analysts, and IT professionals to troubleshoot issues, optimize database performance, and ensure the seamless integration of data across various systems. Proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to evolving technologies will be essential for success in this dynamic and challenging role.

Job Duties:

·        Acquire requirements from stakeholders and translate them into actionable database designs and systems that efficiently access or integrate with databases.

·        Analyze database requirements of users, applications, and operations to understand their needs thoroughly, providing insightful feedback and suggestions for improvement.

·        Configure and rigorously test new business systems data stores to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

·        Provide expert recommendations, encompassing the definition of physical structure, functional capabilities, security protocols, and robust backup and recovery processes, ensuring the reliability and security of the database environment.

·        Develop and fine-tune stored procedures to optimize database performance, enhancing efficiency and responsiveness.

·        Document system details comprehensively, including database structures, configurations, and maintenance procedures, facilitating seamless knowledge transfer and ensuring continuity in operations. Additionally, conduct training sessions for Database Administrators (DBAs) as required to ensure a proficient team.

·        Demonstrate strong expertise in the development and deployment of enterprise-wide databases and associated systems, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and scalability for future growth.

·        Exhibit advanced skills in data modeling, encompassing conceptual, logical, and physical database design, as well as proficiency in database logic to ensure robust and efficient data management solutions.

Education & Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s Degree is required

·        A minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in database development and administration, demonstrating a deep understanding of database management principles and practices.

·        Proficiency in Oracle Cloud OAC (Oracle Analytical Cloud), showcasing hands-on experience in configuring, managing, and optimizing databases within the Oracle Cloud environment.

·        Proven expertise in database administration, with a track record of effectively managing and maintaining database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

·        Strong background in database development, with the ability to design, develop, and implement database solutions that meet the requirements of diverse stakeholders and applications.

·        Familiarity with Workday, providing the capability to integrate and manage data from HR and finance systems, enhancing the overall functionality and interoperability of the database environment.

·        Advanced skills in SQL (Structured Query Language), enabling the creation, modification, and retrieval of data from relational databases with precision and efficiency.

·        Knowledge of Python programming language, offering the potential for automation, data analysis, and integration tasks within the database environment, enhancing productivity and scalability.

This person will be facilitating Business Line awareness of and adherence to risk frameworks, policies, and standards and issue validation while continuously monitoring all sources of risk existing within the Business Line and externally. The ideal person can understand where operational, strategic, reputational, compliance, and model risks exist in the Business Line and continually assess and improve controls to mitigate those risks.

Job Duties:

·        Drive Risk Culture throughout organization ensuring awareness in the Business Line of risk frameworks, policies and standards while working with team members and key stakeholders to develop appropriate metrics and deliver relevant and accurate data.

·        Work with internal teams to gain an in-depth understanding of existing risks, causes, severity rating, controls and remediation.

·        Facilitate training for Business Lines to provide awareness of risk frameworks, policies, programs, processes, issue validation, etc., reporting and escalating exceptions to Business Line corrective actions.

·        Continuously monitor all sources of risk existing within the Business Line and externally while engaging in research, peer networking, and experience to anticipate critical risk issues impacting the Business Line.

·        Understand where operational, strategic, reputational, compliance, and model risks exist in the Business Line and continually assess and improve controls to mitigate those risks.

·        Monitor risk profile to maintain tolerance within Risk Appetite.

·        Draft and execute test procedures to assess operating effectiveness of controls.

·        Obtain, examine and analyze records from various systems, reports, operating practices, and documentation for compliance with bank policies, regulatory compliance and adherence to appropriate procedures by communicating with Business partners across the Bank.

·        Ensure proper utilization of bank policies and line of business procedures.

·        Performs control evaluations (both control design and control performance assessments) through collaboration with various stakeholders while influencing parties towards strategic goals.

Education & Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s Degree is required

·        Strong oral and written communication skills (English and Spanish) and the ability to summarize and present complex information and issues succinctly for the required target audience is a must

·        2+ years’ in IT Risk Management, Internal Controls, IT Auditing is required

·        Previous experience testing controls ensuring compliance with Regulations, Corporate Standards, and Corporate Policy within automated environments

·        Demonstrated experience supporting and/or leading risk projects across multiple business lines offering a wide variety of financial services products and services

·        Must have banking experience (retail banking and risk management)
