Implementation specialist role ensures quality work and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) are followed during implementation and support. Help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot rapidly expanding infrastructure delivering mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. Provide the business knowledge and technical expertise to implement strategies, evaluate products, and build upon an infrastructure that supports the ever-changing needs of our customers. This role leads a team responsible for the OSP & ISP fiber optic rollout including reviewing client product demands, developing project plans, and ensuring that implementations are completed on time, within budget, and meet client expectations.
Skills
Job Duties:
· Manage, support, and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure. Conduct high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption and establish preventive measures.
· Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools; and clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks to leverage implementation and support staff.
· Ensure effective, productive, and optimized use of resources.
· Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
· Routinely test software for bugs, redundancies, and security issues.
· Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
· Daily & Weekly reporting of projects both Internal and to the client.
· Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
· Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
· Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
· Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
· Liaise with vendors and other personnel for problem resolution and ensure that there is always enough stock against project requirements.
· Ensure Project tools and equipment are working properly.
Technical Skills
· Experience with monitoring systems, and networking k (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
· Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef)
· Knowledge and Experience in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) (not negotiable)
· Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
· Basic knowledge and interpretation of designs.

· Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef)
Education
Education & Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
· 5+ years of relevant telecommunication industry experience required.
· Strong public relations skills. Project management certification is a plus.
· Experience in cost estimation and developing the budget in the telecommunication industry, engineering processes, and practices, and their impact on project activities.
· Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
