JIRA Adminsitrator

Role description

The Jira Administrator will be helping to implement Jira-to-Jira integration needs and provide ongoing Jira changes within Jira to Cloud and Confluence to Cloud migrations. This person will be installing new software releases and system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches, and resolving software related problems. Perform system backups and recovery while maintaining data files and monitoring system configuration to ensure data integrity. Support, troubleshoot and resolve incidents within operating systems, servers, networks, system security, hardware and other software applications and create system documentation, including configurations and backup procedures.


Job Duties:

•        Provide User Management and support for 1000+ local and remote users, manage Jira systems access across groups to ensure compliance, and maintain best practices.

•        Create and manage security schemes, permission schemes and configurations and interface with development groups within organization as the IT for Development Cycles/Software.

•        Manage and administer JIRA/Confluence add-ons, plugins, and extensions in addition to reporting and collaboration tools in the engineering environment.

•        Maintain and manage Automation Build Environments such as Jenkins.

•        Implement Atlassian Tools upgrades, and partner with other IT staff to coordinate infrastructure maintenance and system migrations.

•        Support JIRA and Confluence administration, including creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards and reports.

•        Lead minor and major JIRA/Confluence upgrades (including communications), schedule and coordinate maintenance, and lead performance tuning/scaling.

•        Install, manage and administer JIRA add-ons, plugins, and extensions while adapting XML configuration files in regards to JIRA integration as necessary.

•        Meet with stakeholders to identify JIRA Project and Confluence needs and implement them as appropriate while gathering requirements, business process workflows, and process improvement for JIRA/Confluence workflows and processes in place.

•        Resolve issues as they arise with JIRA Projects interacting with existing vendors for support and troubleshooting, Working with our JIRA instance hosting provider on necessary upgrades and communications with others on planned outages.


Education & Requirements:

•        Bachelor’s Degree is required

•        5+ years’ experience within JIRA and Confluence environments (workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards and reports configurations)

•        Must have Jira to Cloud and Confluence to Cloud migration experience

•        Understanding of cloud concepts and deployments (Azure, AWS, GPC)

•        Must have experience working complex workflows and heavy customization issues types

•        Previous experience with Shell scripting, Jira JQL query language and Groovy Scripting (Automation of workflows and template creation) is a must

•        Strong knowledge of Database structures (PostgreSQL and MySQL)


Plus:

•        Experience with Jira to Jira integration is highly preferred

•        Experience installing and updating JIRA plugins using Atlassian SDK is a plus.(.i.e. Rally plugins)
